Jarvis Visits PDP Factional Leader Wike in Abuja
Arthur Jarvis, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful for Cross River State, has met in Abuja with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Wike is the factional national leader of the party. The two discussed the Rainbow Coalition movement and, in particular, how to secure victory for the party in the coming Cross River governorship election.
Jarvis is regarded as one of the strongest contenders for the governorship. He has reportedly pledged to serve a single term if elected.
According to media reports gathered by Global Affairs Hub247, his plan for a better Cross River includes mass employment, rural development, improved healthcare and education, local government autonomy, inclusive governance and economic growth. He says his wealth of experience in the private sector will serve the people of the “People’s Paradise” well.
During the visit, Wike urged PDP members, led by Jarvis, to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He noted that the Rainbow Coalition cuts across party lines and is meant to promote credible candidates.
Wike also charged the Cross River chapter of the coalition, including stakeholders and Senator Sandy Ojang Onor, to strengthen the movement by building alliances that can deliver victory in the state.

Jarvis has already campaigned across northern Cross River, where he has completed consultations with traditional rulers, youths and party faithful. He promised the people, especially the Obanliku, development in tourism, agriculture and border trade. The northern senatorial district comprises five local government areas: Ogoja, Yala, Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku.
On 25 August 2026, Jarvis called on the state governor, Senator Bassey Otu, to take part personally in a public debate on the growth and progress of the South-South state beyond 2027.
