Bola Tinubu Arrives in Nigeria After Weeks of Vacation
Nigeria’s President, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has landed in Lagos State, the centre of excellence, following his working trip to Paris, France.
Reports confirmed that Mr President arrived in Nigeria through the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja.
A handful of government functionaries, dignitaries, and the executive governor of Lagos State, His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, warmly welcomed him.
Reports indicate that Tinubu departed Nigeria on August 30, 2026. His absence in the country for the past thirty-one days (31) has left so many unanswered questions about who has been overseeing the affairs of the nation.
In a statement released by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, stated that his return to the nation is expected to assemble all political players, leaders and allies for a pertinent strategic meeting ahead of the forthcoming general election.
The Presidency also confirmed that the president’s stopover in Lagos State is to honour the legacy and beautiful memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, who won the June 1993 presidential election and was a key figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
Accordingly, the nation’s leader is firmly expected to attend the premiere of a film made in honour of Abiola at the Wole Soyinka Center for Culture and Creative Arts, National Theatre Iganmu, Lagos, Nigeria as part of the Independence celebration.
