Senator Ibrahim Turak,the chairman, Trans Sahara Consortium limited and his delegates met with Wale Edun, the minister of Finance and cordinating minister of the economy.
This visit was an avenue to present the consortium’s idea of Soy bean and sugar projects as it relates to boosting Nigeria’s economy and agricultural productivity.
With the increased rate of soy bean production, its yields will solve the country trade deficit, scale up production volumes and expand sugar production capacity.
The minister of finance and cordinating minister of the economy was excited about the partnership , especially as it aligns with the food security policy of Mr. President- His excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the minister, the project will aid in making the economy of Nigeria increase through this innovation and farming in a large scale.
The Consortium will focus on providing sustainable food production in Nigeria through launching large -scale initiatives, cultivation of 3 million hectares of soybean and the establishment of processing plants for sugar cane. These will help in the production of of millions of tons of sugar for both domestic consumption and exportation.
