Rosemary Chukwuma, a Nigerian athlete, has successfully advanced to the semi-finals of the women’s 100 metres event at the ongoing Olympics in Paris. Chukwuma secured a respectable third place in Heat 5, clocking in at 11.26 seconds.
The top two spots were claimed by Poland’s Ewa Swaboda with a time of 10.99 seconds and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith with a time of 11.01 seconds.
She is representing Nigeria in the event along with another athlete.

Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith of Cote d’ Ivoirie emerged as the top performer in the heats, clocking an impressive time of 10.87s. Shelly-Ann Frasher-Pryce of Jamaica secured second place with a time of 10.92s, while Gina Luckenkemper of Germany took third place with a time of 11.08s.
The semi-finals and final are scheduled for Saturday, August 3.
