Rivers Confers Traditional Title on Activist Martins Vincent Otse
Martins Vincent Otse, a Nigerian advocate for good governance and national development known as “Verydarkman”, has been conferred with the traditional title Eze Nwuje Mekeni Igbu Odiokwu 1 by the Odiokwu Community, part of the Igbo-Odù Kingdom in the Ahoado West Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria.
The chieftaincy title was conferred on behalf of the community by the king in recognition of his contributions to the development of education in the Igbo-Odù Kingdom.

According to the report, Otse, a social media influencer, ran an online campaign for the rehabilitation of Ubie Community Secondary School in Odiokwu after a student of the school, Miss Ogadinma Uchechi, appealed for help.
The report said the school and healthcare clinic project, which cost a total of 250 million naira, was fully funded by Nigerian singer Burna Boy, a native of the area, following the social media appeal.

The report describes the new structures as some of the most outstanding in the locality. They reportedly include ultra-modern administrative blocks, a library, a lavatory, solar-powered streetlights, perimeter fencing and a football field.

Otse is the founder and leader of the Ratel Movement in Nigeria, a non-political grassroots organisation focused on accountability, social justice and community development. The movement has carried out monthly sanitation exercises nationwide, along with other rehabilitation projects.
According to media reports, Otse has announced plans to formally register the organisation as a political party, with structures across local government areas, states and the country.
