HOW MR PRESIDENT CAN RESTORE PEACE IN THE PROTEST
Reno Omokri, Hollywood Magazine Humanitarian of the Year, author and social media Influencer has identified measures that MR. President can oblige, to restore calm and normalcy in the face of protest.
He highlighted this in his X handle@renoomkri. Reno believes that the leadership of Nigeria and the Nigerian people need to have contact so that things can be calm. He mentioned that, some protesters have lost control and protests in a country like Nigeria are often economic opportunity for looters and others to cash out from a state of tension. He urged Mr. president to either call a National Council of meeting , give a National Broadcast or even do both.
He also advised that Mr President make further reductions in the cost of governance by cutting his salary and that of every appointee of the Federal Government. He also advised that there should be a limit to the cars used by the ministers to only two official cars, one for them and the other for their security.
Furthermore, he opined that, Mr. President may return the electricity subsidy for six months instead of the fuel subsidy as this act will show that the President feels the people’s pains and will help ease the burdens of Nigerians and show them that they have a listening President.
Subsequently, Mr President may want to grant a year’s tax holiday to every person earning minimum wage to give them room to adjust to the changes in our economy.
He explains that,doing nothing at the presidential level is the worst strategy and that History will forgive a leader who makes the wrong decision but, not the one who takes no action. he advised the government react proactively so that there will be no more deaths and normalcy will be restored to Nigerians.
