The first lady of Nigeria- Senator Oluremi became Nigerian’s first lady in 2023 and was also the first lady of Lagos state from 1999 to 2007 when her husband _President Bola Tinubu was the Governor of Lagos State.
As a member of the All Progressive party, Senator Oluremi represented the Lagos Central Senatorial District at the Nigerian National Assembly from 2011 to 2023.

As first lady, she established the New Era Foundation, dedicated to establishing centers for “all round development of young ones and promote public awareness on environmental health and community service.” Her investment in Society and her Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisation Scheme in collaboration with Good Boys and Girls Empowerment Scheme (GBGES) has produced 1,172 beneficiaries. About 164 youths were tranined on various skills and received start up kits and capital of about N40,000 each.
Upon the visit arranged by the first lady of Turkey, Mrs Ermine Erdorgan, the ambassador to Turkey in Nigeria, Hidayet Bayraktar welcomed the first lady to the Institute and noted the collaborative efforts between the two nations especially in the area of cultural exchange and education.
In her words, “Our relations have been growing especially in economic issues. We have very good political relations as well. One of the aspects of this relation is of course, the cultural aspects of these two countries. One of the aims of this institute is that the the Nigerian students that are learning Turkish will have the opportunity to work in Turkish companies when they come to establish here and even when they go to Turkey.”
Speaking in the Yunus Emre institute, Maitama Abuja, on the invitation of the first Lady of Turkey-Mrs Ermin Erdorgan, Senator Oluremi called on the Youth to be focused positively and set their minds on creative things.

During this visit to the Yunus Emire institute,the first lady,Senator Oluremi Tinubu inspected the institute while commending female Nigerian artists at the center. She expressed her delight at the level of creativity and reminded them to express more positivity in their creative works.
The first lady also visited the classroom of some children from an orphanages are going through formal education courses of the Turkish embassy in Nigeria. She saw this as a step to granting children scholarships. Senator Oluremi Tinubu said, ” I see this as a step towards granting our children scholarship just as we have with the Republic of Belarus. Turkish citizens here should also learn some of our languages”
In her words the first lady also admonished the Youths in the center. She said, “This cente provides great opportunities for you to live your dreams as artists. You are not learning about Turkey but also actualizing your dreams.”
“Believe in what you are doing and as long as you set your mind to do it, you will succeed. Dream big but do not despise the days of humble beginnings.”
Senator Oluremi Tinubu expressed her appreciation to the first lady of Turkey-Mrs Ermine Erdorgan for coming to the OIC High level seminar on Cancer awareness hosted in Nigeria and her invitation for her to visit the instute.
