Dangote Refinery Company insisted that their prices for fuel are benchmarked against international prices and so it’s prices are relative to the price at which it imports.
Hence the group affirms that,
“If anyone claims they can land PMS at a price cheaper than what we are selling, then they are importing substandard products and conniving with international traders to dump low quality products into the country, without concern for the health of Nigerians or the longevity of their vehicles. Unfortunately, the regulator (NMDPRA) does not even have laboratory facilities which can be used to detect substandard products when imported into the country.”
This was in response to the
information circulated by IPMAN, PETROAN and other business associations.
According to the statement issued by Dangote company, the companies above stated that,
” they can import PMS at lower price than what is being sold at the Dangote Refinery”
Furthermore, the Dangote Group mentioned that they sell properly refined fuel at a relative price to how they import .The price at which they sell and the reasons for their sale is discussed in the press statement below.
