The 64th Independence Day Parade was conducted at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja, and President Bola Tinubu and his deputy, Kashim Shettima, were in attendance. Several dignitaries, such as Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Chief Justice of Nigeria Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, SGF Akume, the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police, cabinet members, former presidents and vice presidents, heads of paramilitary organizations, the Head of the National Intelligence Agency, the Director General of the Directorate of State Services, and members of the diplomatic corps, attended the event.

The theme of this year’s ceremony is “Inspiring the Future, Reflecting on the Past.” Tinubu’s second Independence Day ceremony as President will take place this year. The activities were relocated to the Villa by the current administration as a result of the unstable economic climate.

The collective resolve of the various zones would be necessary for the country’s development, as Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele stated. He emphasized that the necessary change cannot be achieved by any single geopolitical zone alone, and that all Nigerians must unite.

The president’s message was unequivocal: the progress of the nation necessitates the collective determination of all its citizens.
