The Executive Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Sunday, 16th June spoke on Father’s Day celebration advising young men on fatherhood.
In his words, “fatherhood for me is about responsibility, love, and sometimes, a call to kitchen duties. It demands sacrifice, patience, and dedication to being the best we can be for our families.
As a father and leader, I strive to nurture and provide in every role, ensuring my home thrives. The same dedication I bring to my family, I bring to serving Lagos.
The love and principles we uphold in our families guide me daily as your governor.
Together, we can build a stronger, more caring community.
Happy Father’s Day.”
The statement from the governor has stirred mixed reactions from the populace with some questioning the motives behind the statement as the governor posted on his X account an image of himself on kitchen duties on Father’s Day.
While some expressed their appreciation for the message from the governor, others elucidated their challenges, highlighting the policies of his administration which were detrimental to their interests.
Others pointed out the need for policies which encourage the security of the of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the state also advising the government to provide an avenue for vocational training for them. Commenting further, some expressed the need to fix some major roads in the state, like the Iyana Ipaja road, Oshodi under bridge, amongst others.
