The Edo governorship election is slated to hold toda, the 21st of September , 2024.
In a bid to maintain orderliness and achieve a peaceful election, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on all stakeholders holders to comport themselves in a peaceful way and show sportsmanship.
The president also seeks that governorship candidates, political parties and supporters maintain democratic principles and the people’s choice.
His Excellency , therefore advocates that democracy thrives on civility,tolerance, patience, and respect for the rules of the game.
He emphasised that the independent Electoral commission (INEC) is committed to conducting a free and fair election. Hence, stakeholders should collaborate for a peaceful and successful election.
His Excellency also credits the governorship candidates for identifying the challenges of Edo in their campaign process. Some of these challenges include; improving livelihoods,
promoting economic growth, and contributing to national development.
He reminds citizens to be peaceful and respectful. He also encourages them to resolve any conflict amicably with the help of constituted authorities.
Lastly, Mr President believes in the professionalism and integrity posed by the Independent electoral commission and its officials. He requires that they remain impartial and avoid any actions that could compromise the integrity of the electoral process.
