BREAKING: Dangote Refinery denies selling fuel to NNPC at N898/L

In contrast to the press release by NNPC Ltd, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer for Dangote Refinery, Mr Anthony Chiejina, on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, around 9:35pm, issued a press statement saying that Dangote Refinery sold the PMS to NNPCL in dollars with a lot of savings against what they are currently importing. He also added that this action by Dangote Refinery will ensure the availability of petrol in every local government area of the country regardless of their remote nature.

Speaking further, he urged Nigerians to disregard the malicious statement distributed to NNPCL spokesperson, Mr. Olufemi Soneye, that they sell their PMS at N898 per liter to NNPCL, and await a formal announcement on the pricing by the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, which will commence on October 1st, 2024, while also bearing in mind that their current stock of crude was procured in dollars.

Mr. Anthony described the statement attributed to the NNPCL spokesperson as “ both misleading and mischievous, deliberately aimed at undermining the milestone achievement recorded today, September 15, 2024, towards addressing energy insufficiency and insecurity, which has bedeviled the economy in the past 50years.”

Mr. Anthony went on to assure Nigerians of quality petroleum product and putting an end to the endemic fuel scarcity in the country.
