PRESIDENT TINUBU’S VISIT TO CAPETOWN, SOUTH AFRICA  FOR THE 11TH SESSION OF THE NIGERIA SOUTH AFRICA BI-NATIONAL COMMISSION

Bayo  Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy has informed the public about the presidents involvement in co-chairing the 11th session of the Nigeria south Africa Bi-national Commission. This will be done alongside alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.


President Cyril Ramaphosa is the President of South Africa and a leader of the African National Progress. On the other hand, the Bi -national commission that showcases the cordial relationship between Nigeria and Ghana began in 1994 with the opening of High commissions on Pretoria and Lagos.

This relation was conducted through a bi- national commission (BNC) established in 1999. The countries host themselves in turns.


Hence, it is scheduled that  the President will leave France for Capetown on Monday, the 2nd of December. Before  the event on the 3rd of December, there would be a ministerial meeting on the 2nd of December  at the South African Parliament Building in Cape Town.

 
Issues of mutual interest, including bilateral, regional and international matters will be discussed by the Presidents. They will also reflect on their progress since the last 11th BTU, held in Abuja, Nigeria.
 
According to the special adviser to the President,
 
“The 11th session of the BNC will feature deliberations across eight working groups, each focusing on a specific area of mutual interest. These include political consultations, consular and migration, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, social sector,  mines and energy, and trade and investments. At the high-level meeting, officials of both countries will sign several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) .
President Tinubu will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising state governors, ministers, and senior government officials.
 
President Bola will return to the country after this engagement.
