Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, Commissioner for Housing led, lagos State led a technical team to inspect the ongoing LagosHOMS housing project at Ajara in Badary on Friday.
About 420 home units in 35 blocks of various categories of three, two and one-bedroom flats were inspected. While on the sight, the commisioners interacted with contractors on site. He expressed his satisfaction with the quality and speed geared towards the delivery of the project.
It is on this note that he reiterated the commitment of the State Government to increase the quality and standard of decent homes available to the citizens of Lagos State, particularly the low and medium-income earners. He believes that the lagos State Government(LAGS)under the leadership of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, will investigate that all ongoing housing projects are built to the best standard in terms of specification and will be completed during his tenure.
The commissioner Akinderu-Fatai also advised the contractor to escalate any identified challenge for immediate resolution. Hence, the building should meet the stipulated time slated for commissioning in as much as quality materials are used in the site.
These homes built are meant to account for home needs of the Lagos residents especially those along the west senatorial district of the State.
Also,the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Engr. Abdulhafis Gbolahan Toriola, requested that contractors sign off their building materials for the projects from the Ministry’s technical team before installation.
Engr. Toriola mentioned that the Lagos state Government will ensure that gaps in the provision of high-quality and affordable housing are filled on a progressive basis.
