President of the Nigerian Senate, Dr. Godswill Akpabio, has described Akwa Ibom State in southern Nigeria as one united entity with daily developmental landmarks.
Akpabio, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, sent a felicitation to Governor Umo Eno.
“On behalf of the Senate, my family, and my constituents, I extend my warmest felicitations to Governor Umo Eno, the government, and the people of Akwa Ibom State for attaining 37 years as a one united entity with landmark developmental strides.
“As we mark this significant occasion, I reflect on the state’s tremendous progress and resilience since September 23, 1987.
“As governor for 8 years, I also contributed my quota to the development of our people and the state, and I must appreciate your generosity for the confidence you reposed in me and the opportunity you accorded me to serve the state in that capacity.
“I must pay tribute to all the past governors and others who have served the state in different capacities for their contributions.”
Akpabio described the 37th anniversary as a remarkable milestone, maintaining that it is indeed a worthwhile journey despite some challenges.
Akpabio stated that an inclusive and visionary approach has driven Akwa Ibom’s continued success under Governor Umo Eno’s leadership.
The Senate President urged the people of the state to continue to rally behind him and other state representatives in positions of authority, as well as Governor Umo Eno’s administration, to enable them to work together towards a brighter future for their beloved state.
He prayed that the anniversary inspires renewed hope, unity, and progress.
