Super Eagles bench Osimhen and Iwobi to maintain momentum in Rwanda

Victor Osimhen will start from the bench in the Super Eagles’ African Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Rwanda on Tuesday in Kigali.

The Eagles beat Benin Republic on Saturday, so manager Austin Eguavoen has only made one change to the team that will play at the Amahoro Stadium. They hope to keep up their good start to the playoffs.

Nigeria beat Benin Uyo 3-0 on Saturday, and Osimhen scored the second goal just eight minutes after coming on as a substitute. However, the Eguavoen has not yet given him the confidence to lead the line.

Victor Boniface starts in his place, along with Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and 2-goal hero against Benin.

Along with Tom Dele-Basiru from Lazio, Fulham’s Alex Iwobi has been replaced by Dele-Basiru. Iwobi had a quiet game against Benin.

The game begins at 2 p.m.

Stan Nwabali, Troost Ekong, Ola Aina, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Wilfred Ndidi, Fiasyo Dele-Basiru, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and Victor Boniface are all in the lineup.
