Ahead of the United Nations Assembly, scheduled to hold in September 2024, Mr. President has made contributions to delegating the responsibility to Vice president Shettima as leader of Nigeria’s delegates.
The UNGA high General Debate will begin on Tuesday 24th September, 2024 at New york city, United States of America. It will span from Tuesday the 24th to Friday the 28th.
The theme of this General debate is “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations.”
Mr. President needs to tackle the domestic issues and challenges in the country especially the recent flood issue as he has just returned from his trip to China and the United Kingdom.
Nigeria’s national statement will be delivered by Vice President Shettima to the General Assembly. He will attend important sideline events, and hold bilateral meetings.
Recall that Mr. President had earlier limited the number of attendees to this event in August. According to him, it was to ensure prudent management of resources in the economy.
