Italy manager Spalletti gives an update on Arsenal player Riccardo Calafiori’s injuries following an unusual clash

Riccardo Calafiori, Arsenal‘s new player, injured himself badly during Italy’s 3-1 win over France in a friendly match. Fans and players were worried about what happened, which happened in the second half after a strange accident involving Ousmane Dembele of France.

Federico Dimarco, Davide Frattesi, and Giacomo Raspadori scored goals to help Italy come back from being behind early on and win the game. The game became more dangerous when Calafiori fell to the ground and grabbed his knee.

The injury happened when Alessandro Bastoni of Italy pushed Dembele to get the ball back for his team.
It was a fair move on Dembele, but the French winger lost his balance and hit Calafiori in the knee with his leg.

That Arsenal player didn’t do anything to cause the tackle, but he did get hit hard.
Medical staff rushed onto the field as Calafiori writhed in pain, and the Italian back was finally taken off.

Fans of both Italy and Arsenal were worried when he left, especially since Calafiori had just moved to North London during the summer transfer window. Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Italy, gave a good report after the game.

“We need to assess Riccardo, but with our staff, we’ve a good chance to have him back with us for the next game,” said Spalletti.

If Calafiori gets better in time, he might play in Italy’s next game, which is against Israel. This will also be good news for Arsenal, who have a lot of important games in September, including the North London derby against Tottenham on September 15.
