The All Progressives Congress (APC) is on its way to making history with a clear-cut victory in the Edo Polls ( Edo State Gubernatorial Elections).
Early projections indicated that the party had secured a significant lead, winning in 13 out of the 18 Local Government Areas across the state.
Reports show that APC had swept all 11 LGAs in Edo North and Central, thereby reinforcing their stronghold in these regions. In addition, the party triumphed in the highly contested Ovia South West and Ovia North East Local Government Areas, bringing their total to 13 LGAs.
While, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has managed to claim just 5 LGAs, struggling to keep up with the APC’s momentum.
The projections showed the massive support of members of the state for APC’s candidate, Monday Okpebholo, and signifies a growing desire for change across Edo State, with the electorate favoring his plans for development and progress.
Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary for APC, Mr. Felix Morka, Esq. issued a press statement yesterday, urging all electorates to disregard fake election figures/results in circulation saying collation was still ongoing.
Mr. Felix stated that APC was in an early and comfortable lead. He, however, added that the party will not attempt to preempt INEC’s conclusion of the election process & official declaration of final results.
Mr. Felix went further to clarify that the collation of results were still ongoing at the WARD level and we’re yet to be concluded.
