Nigerian Man Faces Charges in Pakistan for Attempted Cocaine Smuggling

The Pakistan Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has apprehended a Nigerian man at Lahore International Airport for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the country.

According to a report by The Express Tribune on Thursday, the suspect arrived in Pakistan from Nigeria via Dubai. Authorities discovered that he had ingested 38 capsules containing a total of 608 grams of cocaine.

An ANF spokesperson revealed that the arrest is part of a broader crackdown on drug smuggling. In 2023, Pakistani authorities arrested 10 Nigerians in similar incidents, seizing a total of 4.811 kilograms of narcotics. This year alone, the ANF has conducted seven operations, resulting in the arrest of eight Nigerians and the recovery of 11.420 kilograms of drugs.

The suspect is set to face charges under Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Act, and further investigations are currently underway.
