The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation(NDIC) has issued a notice to the public of its intention to terminate liquidating activities.
The NDIC is an independent agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria. It is an insurance company with its objectives of protecting the interests of depositors and shareholders in the bank through adequate supervision.
Recently, the NDIC in a memo informed the general public of its decision as a liquidator and in accordance with the provisions of its enabling law and other relevant laws, to present an application to the Federal High Court to obtain dissolution orders of the closed banks and to release/discharge Corporation as the liquidator of the banks.
This will take effect at the expiration of thirty days beginning from the 23rd of August, 2024.
The primary mortgage and microfinance banks affected are eighty-seven and some of them include;
