After deliberations between the management and critical stake holders of the University of Calabar, the management seeks to announce 1st and 2nd of August lecture free and examinations days.
This decision was seen in a correspondence published on the 29th of July and signed by the registerer – Mr. Gabriel Egbe.
The break is based on the announcement of the nation wide protest scheduled to hold from the 1st of August. Hence, all the gates leading to the school premises would be locked except the main gate.
The management advised that every student or staff must be with their identification card because there will be restriction of movement, moreover ,the medical team and health practitioners will be on duty during the period of the protest.
Furthermore, students are advised not to protest or cause chaos but should go about their normal academic activities. The management assured the staff and students that, security measures have been put in place to encourage a peaceful and hitch free academic session.
