Indigent students from the state who are enrolled in tertiary institutions throughout the country have been asked by Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in Ondo State, to submit an application for the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and to do so as soon as possible.
According to the Commissioner, who was addressing in Akure, the State Governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa, has urged every student in the state who is unable to pay for their education to take advantage of the Federal Government Loan Scheme, which is designed for students attending higher institutions elsewhere in the country.
For the purpose of registering for the fund, Mr. Akindolire instructed the students to go to the loan site, which is located at nelf.gov.ng.
Through the provision of assistance to students in the payment of school fees, the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) was established by the Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and approved as a law in June 2023. The purpose of this fund is to guarantee that no Nigerian student is denied access to education.
Additionally, the Commissioner for Education is urging students of state origin to register for the programme as soon as possible. This comes at a time when the loan will begin to be distributed to the recipients the following week.
