According to a statement released by the management of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund on Wednesday, twelve tertiary schools that are owned by state governments have been added to the pool of applicants for student loans.
In a statement that was signed by Nasir Ayitogo, who is the Head of Media and Public Relations for the Fund, it was mentioned that the onboarding process was carried out after the successful submission of data and verification of its correctness.
“The total number of participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now climbed to 48, from the initial 36 that were announced earlier. This recent addition brings the total number of participating universities to 48. “The data collected from 121 different educational institutions is remarkable,” the statement added.
The Fund strongly encouraged all educational institutions that have not yet uploaded the information of their students to the Student Verification Portal to do so in order to make it possible for their students to take advantage of the programme.
A call was also made to states whose data had been effectively acquired and uploaded to encourage their students to apply as soon as possible. This would not only provide assistance to students who are having financial difficulties, but it would also offer assured money to the schools.
