Tinubu emphasises skill acquisition, foreign trainings for beneficiaries of PAP

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has said that there is a need for more foreign scholarships and skill acquisition, extensive training programmes, and empowerment for beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

PAP was set up by Nigeria’s former president, late Shehu Yar’Adua.

The president spoke through his Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty programme, Dr. Dennis Otuaro when he addressed the phase two delegates in day two consultative and interactive meeting on consolidating peace, security and development in the Niger Delta region.

Tinubu said PAP will have a tremendous impact on the educational and vocational training of beneficiaries.

“If we can sustain this peace and generate great ideas, I am pretty sure that we can present a compelling case and make better educational impact.

“We’ll  get the blue print of the programme in line with President Tinubu’s hope and developmental agenda”

Dr. Otuaro assured that he will ensure the programme goes beyond mere monthly payment of the N65,000 stipend.

“Through the support of Mr. President, I will bring the programme up to the original goals and visions of the initiator late President Musa Yar’Adua of blessed memories.

”The intervention initiative is one with a vision beyond the payment of a N65,000 monthly stipend.

”The need for unity and collaboration as strategic initiatives aimed at deepening the impact of the Amnesty Program, which has been instrumental in fostering peace and development in the Niger Delta region”.

He said the President is committed to the development of the Niger Delta.

He called for unity among stakeholders, urging them to avoid divisive actions and to communicate any genuine concerns directly to him.
