Thousands of protests in London to call for action on wildlife issues

Thousands of people in central London marched to call on political leaders to take stronger action in addressing the UK’s wildlife crisis.

The rally, held outside Parliament Square, featured speeches from naturalists Chris Packham and Steve Backshall, poetry readings, and performances by Billy Bragg and Feargal Sharkey.

The protesters wore shiny clothes, detailed animal costumes, and fancy face paint, expressing frustration and anger at the dire state of the climate emergency and the devastating loss of our natural world.

350 environmental groups joined forces to urge the government to take stronger action in response to the biodiversity crisis.

Environmental groups, campaigners, and scientists have expressed concerns that the government’s efforts to protect wildlife and nature in England are insufficient.

The environmental audit committee found that the government’s policies were not effectively stopping the alarming decline of wildlife and were not addressing the biodiversity crisis with the necessary urgency.

The march aimed to unite these groups and encourage them to focus on what they have in common rather than their differences.
